As many Internet users know, the U.S. Government is trying to pass an act called "SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) and "PIPA(Protect IP Act)". The U.S. Government has asked the Middle Eastern countries and China not to close their Internet, but America is now passing an act that would ruin the purpose of the Internet: education and entertainment. Any websites with ANY forms of copyrights, will be banned. That goes for Google, Youtube, and all those famous websites that people go to watch their favorite videos and music. They're also going to ban every single game or website that takes the IP address of a person playing that game. Extremely famous and huge games such as Call Of Duty, Starcraft, World of Warcraft, Runescape, Minecraft, and all those multiplayer games will be banned if the law passes. Google has decided to go against this act and is deciding to post on their homepage to protest against this act. If enough people see and take action, then the law may stop.
I've learned that even though the Government is trying to protect the people, they're taking 10% of the world's economy away and ruining people's main purpose for the Internet (entertainment and education), they should not go this far. Maybe a different form of act may be fine but definitely not this one. It's good that the government is trying to protect people, but this isn't just protecting, but ruining almost the entire world.
