Are kids starting to hack?

As technology becomes much more important every, people of every age start to learn new ideas and things that are based on computers. Adults, teenagers, and even kids are starting to get used to new technology these days. And what better way to learn about technology than actually trying it for yourself and making something happen by yourself. One way for kids to take a first step in the world of technology is by "coding". To write a program you need coding, and kids these days are actually starting to learn how to code - but they are coding because of bad morals. Games are very fun to play but there's a method to actually "virtually steal" things from other people. One example is Runescape. There was a program which promised any players who typed in their usernames and password a lot of "gold" (currency of the game). Once the victim had typed in the details, it was automatically sent to an email of that person. Trackers managed to track one down and to their shocking disbelief, it was actually an 11 year old Canadian boy who was accused of "virtual theft". AVG's chief technology officer has stated that it's great that kids are starting to know how to code, but it's only for bad integrity.

- The author states that kids are starting to use coding but for wrong reasons.
- Coding can actually help and teach a lot, if taught to use in the right way.
- Despite being only a game, even in-game thievery is still counted as a crime.

Potential Strengths

- Kids these days are getting much better in coding programs
- These things were self-taught at home(meaning everyone can learn it). It was most likely taught by people from the Internet, not a teacher or anyone.
- The future of technology and programming can be better as kids these days already start early.

Disadvantages and weaknesses

- Kids will only learn BECAUSE they are doing it for something that want (example: hacking. If it wasn't for hacking, they probably would not be interested).
- Teaches kids to have bad morals
- As a kid who knows how to code learns more and more about  hacking, he/she will be able to make a dangerous program.

In this video, the kid who got hacked was asked to go on a "phishing" website and enter his username and password in there. In the end, he was stripped off all his belongings in the game.

Questions

- Will kids ever learn about programming with good intentions and for justice?
- Is this more of a benefit or is it more of a negative thing?
- Will there be any way to teach kids how to code at an early age without them having to be interested only through bad intentions?
